The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday committed to further enhancing its operations in 2026 to meet the needs of communities.

“We also commit to Enhanced Managing Police Operations, making our actions smarter, faster, and more responsive to the evolving needs of our communities,” acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in his New Year’s message.

Nartatez also vowed to uphold integrity monitoring among PNP personnel, noting that discipline, accountability and ethical conduct “must define every police officer at all times.”

Active community support, Nartatez said, will also be deepened as “peace and security are best achieved when police and community stand together in trust and cooperation.”

The PNP chief also said “utmost importance” will be given to morale and welfare of police officers, recognizing that a motivated and well-supported police force is essential to effective public service.

For the new year, Nartatez said the PNP will continue to strengthen resource management to ensure that every asset, capability and peso entrusted to the organization is used wisely and responsibly.

“As we step into 2026, let us carry forward the spirit of a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas — Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman (New Philippines — Services that are Fast, Honest and Felt),” he said. (PNA)
