Singapore-based electronics and medical device manufacturer MNEX will start producing from its Batangas plant in early 2027, further bolstering the domestic manufacturing sector’s capacity to supply globally.
This was cited by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque, who, in a press release Monday, said she was able to meet with MNEX Chief Executive Officer Cindy Goh-Cabral on Oct. 10, at the sidelines of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Singapore visit.
MNEX’s PHP180-million manufacturing plant, its first in the Philippines, is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). It is located at the Light Industry and Science Park III – Special Economic Zone in Santo Tomas, Batangas.
“MNEX’s advanced precision manufacturing facility significantly strengthens our domestic industrial supply chain for global electronics and medical device markets. DTI, through PEZA, is fully committed to providing seamless operational facilitation to ensure this facility comes online by early 2027 and serves as a strong anchor for the company’s regional expansion,” Roque said.
DTI said the foreign firm has “also expressed interest in building a digital team in the Philippines to support its manufacturing systems.”
“We are focused on delivering a competitive business ecosystem—backed by CREATE MORE incentives, streamlined green lanes, and strong cost-mitigation measures. Our objective is to provide investors like MNEX with operational certainty, accelerating time-to-market while creating high-value technical jobs for Filipinos and solidifying the Philippines’ position as a core pillar in global manufacturing supply chains,” Roque said.
