Robredo, Ocampo Discuss Inclusive Political Leadership In Free Online Lecture

Former Vice President, Atty. Leni Robredo and award-winning historian Dr. Ambeth Ocampo will highlight the challenges and legacies of the country’s inclusive political leadership in a free online lecture.

The public discussion entitled Inclusive Leadership: Quo Vadis? Bridging Divides and Creating History aims to formulate holistic insights that may drive positive change. The initiative intends to provide strategies and frameworks for enhancing the capacity of individuals and institutions involved in governance to effectively implement comprehensive practices.

The event is organized by the Social Science and the Theology-Philosophy Areas of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Multidisciplinary Studies (SMS).

Robredo, while facing the country’s problems and difficulties, will share her expertise in leading with integrity.

The human rights lawyer will likewise impart her experiences during her term as Hauser Leader at the Harvard Kennedy School Center for Public Leadership in the United States.

The former Camarines Sur representative served as a legal counsel to indigent litigants such as children, women, farmers, fisherfolk, laborers, and indigenous peoples.

Currently, the economist is the chairperson of the non-government organization Angat Pinas, Inc., which assists communities in need by mobilizing partnerships with the public and private sectors.

With her outstanding contributions as a development worker, she was chosen as a Rockefeller fellow for the Bellagio Center Residency Program in Italy. She was likewise honored as the 2023 Most Distinguished Alumna by the University of the Philippines (UP) Alumni Association.

Ocampo will provide a comprehensive overview of the history and rule of the Philippine administration in the past decades.

The educator will also walk the audience through the controversies and long-lasting impact of the works and efforts of the previous presidents of the Philippines.

He is presently the Horacio de la Costa Professor of History and Humanities at the Ateneo de Manila University. He has held academic appointments at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, the University of Michigan in the US, and Kyoto University and Sophia University in Japan.
