The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking to complete the canvassing of the general elections results of the March 14 special polls in the 2nd District of Antipolo City within 36 hours.

“Subject to reasonable exceptions, the DBOC (District Board of Canvassers) must complete its canvass within 36 hours from the time it initially convened,” Comelec en banc Resolution 11197 read.

“Upon completion of the canvass, the DBOC shall announce the result of the special elections.”

The commission noted that the DBOC is set to meet at 6 p.m. on March 14 at the Ynares Event Center to receive the election returns and to start the canvassing.

Canvassers will meet continuously until the canvass is completed and may adjourn only for the purpose of awaiting the other election returns.

The entire proceedings are open to the public.

There are 252,793 registered voters in the city’s second district, representing eight barangays with 348 clustered precincts in 36 voting centers. (PNA)
