House of Representatives trial spokesman Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong of Lanao del Sur on Monday said the House prosecution panel is awaiting the Senate impeachment court’s pre-trial order a week before the trial of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte.

He said the pre-trial order would show the flow of the trial proper that begins July 6.

“Well, handang-handa na po ang House prosecution panel. In fact, nag-aantay po tayo kung ano po ‘yung … kailan po ilalabas ng korte yung pre-trial order nila (the House prosecution panel is already prepared. In fact, we are waiting for the court to release its pre-trial order),” Alonto Adiong said in a radio interview.

“So inaantay po natin ‘yung magiging aksyon ng impeachment court doon po sa kanilang ire-release na pre-trial order kasi ‘yan po ang magiging guide kung anong magiging flow ng actual trial sa July 6 (we are waiting for the action of the impeachment court on the pre-trial order to be released because that would be the guide on how the actual trial on July 6 would flow),” he said.

He said the impeachment court’s expected issuance would also show how it resolves the requests and issues presented and encountered by the prosecution of the Vice President’s defense team during last week’s pre-trial conference.

These include the opening of the sealed Bureau of Internal Revenue box contained the Vice President’s tax records, and the use of Filipino as a language medium during the impeachment trial, among others.

He reiterated that it would be upon the release of the pre-trial order that the two sides and the public would know which issues were resolved before the trial begins. (PNA)
