Abante Babae! In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) presents “Cine Juana sa Intramuros”, screening four films that champion Filipino women’s experiences, resilience, and courage on the silver screen.
Partnering with the Intramuros Administration and Center Stage Production, FDCP will be presenting women-centered movies in Centro de Turismo and Fort Bonifacio Teatro every Saturday for the month of March. The best part? It is free to the public and accepts walk-ins on a first come, first served basis.
The films and schedules are:
- “Inisiang” by Lino Brocka – March 8, 4pm, Centro de Turismo
- “Ma’ Rosa” by Brillante Mendoza – March 15, 4pm, Fort Bonifacio Teatro
- “Sonata” by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes – March 22, 4pm, Centro de Turismo
- “The Chanters” by James Robin Mayo – March 29, 4pm, Fort Bonifacio Teatro
At the time of writing, there are still three more weekends where you can catch these amazing films, so what are you waiting for? Grab your girls and your florals, and celebrate your courage and femininity!
