SM Megamall’s New Look Is Set To Start This July 2024

SM Megamall, known for its numerous buildings along the North, accessible bus terminals, and MRT, will undergo redevelopment in July 2024.

SM Megamall’s renovation features a partnership with the esteemed international architectural firm Benoy, recognized for notable projects like Jewel Changi, ION Orchard in Singapore, and ICONSIAM in Thailand.

Inspired by the concept of the Philippines as a “country of a thousand islands,” the design has been reimagined with a “Crystal Islands” theme for the mall’s interior and exterior.

Drawing inspiration from a tropical oasis, the design features nature-inspired elements with expansive green spaces, wider hallways, and high ceilings. The fifth floor enhances this concept with a distinctive roofing system that bathes the air-conditioned garden in natural light.

Additionally, this area will be furnished with tables and chairs, creating inviting coffee nooks ideal for unwinding after an extensive shopping session.

The redevelopment also considers space, adding 20,000 square meters for retail stores and restaurants. Moreover, 1,000 additional parking slots will be added to the mall.
