The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) brought its mobile national identification (ID) registration to island barangays in the municipality of Culasi in Antique province.
Chariza Misajon, PSA-Antique Registration Officer 3, said in an interview Thursday that they conducted mobile registration in the island barangay of Maniguin in Culasi on Oct. 28-29.
“There were 74 individuals, of whom 40 were Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries who registered,” she said.
They will also conduct a similar activity in Batbatan, another island barangay in Culasi, on Nov. 6, targeting about 309 individuals who are also 4Ps beneficiaries.
“Without the mobile registration in the island barangays, 4Ps beneficiaries, as well as the other island residents, will have to go to the PSA provincial office in San Jose de Buenavista or wait for the schedule of the mobile registration in Culasi mainland,” Misajon said.
Residents without any ID may take advantage of the mobile registration to obtain one, which they can use during official transactions or when seeking assistance from government agencies.
Household members enrolled with 4Ps but have no birth certificates can use the national ID to claim their cash grants.
Meanwhile, the mobile registration at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in San Jose de Buenavista on Oct. 20 served 59 persons deprived of liberty. (PNA)
