Over 2.3 million individuals are set to participate in the first Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE) in September, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Tuesday.

The voters are from the 2,185 barangays (villages) in 108 cities and municipalities of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

There will be 5,212 clustered precincts in 1,186 voting centers, according to the Comelec.

Comelec chairperson George Garcia said registered voters in the region would vote for one Regional Parliamentary Political Party and one candidate for Parliamentary District Representative for their respective areas.

The voters will choose six nominees of Parliamentary Sectoral Organizations, including two for settler communities, one for women, one for youth, one for traditional leaders, and one for Ulama (body of religious scholars).

The BPE is set on Sept. 14, 2026. (PNA)
