The new Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director has vowed to integrate and enhance modern policing initiatives in the city.

Col. Richard Bad-Ang replaced Col. Alberto Lupaz on Friday as the new DCPO chief.

In his speech, Bad-Ang vowed to foster strong partnerships with other law enforcement non-profit and civic organizations to create safer places for everyone to live, work, and enjoy life.

His priority programs include sustaining the gains and advantages of his predecessors in the fight against criminality, terrorism and illegal drugs, with a focus on personnel morale and welfare, optimal asset utilization, preventive and aggressive law enforcement, and community engagement.

“Personnel is the most important asset of every law enforcement unit; programs that will protect them and uplift their morale and welfare shall be implemented,” Bad-Ang said.

Born and raised in Ifugao, Bad-Ang became a proud city resident in 1998 when he married Dr. Maria Theresa Bad-ang. He was a member of Davao’s finest, the DCPO, from 2009 to 2015.

He was designated as the chief of the DCPO intelligence office and as company commander of the Davao City Mobile Group or Mobile Force Company, then became the head of the Police Community Relations.

Moreover, Bad-Ang was also the former Administrative and Resource Management Division of Area Police Command-Eastern Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Mayor Sebastian Duterte thanked former city director Col. Alberto Lupaz for the accomplishments he has made for the city. (PNA)
