Dinagat Islands province is seen to boost its transport connectivity with the rest of the country with the start of a regular bus route to the National Capital Region (NCR) starting Tuesday.

“The Eastern Goldtrans Tours, Inc. will now have its regular routes from the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange going to San Jose, Dinagat Islands,” Governor Nilo Demerey Jr. said in a statement.

On Monday, Demerey welcomed the arrival of Eastern Goldtrans Tours and its executives at the Provincial Capitol in San Jose town.

The bus firm launched its maiden trip from San Jose going to the NCR early Tuesday.

The bus will be transported via a RoRo (roll-on, roll-off) vessel from Dinagat to mainland Mindanao and will be traveling on land to the Visayas and Luzon areas. The entire trip will take two to three days.

Demerey said the regular route will also strengthen the links of the province to the major market centers in Luzon, the Visayas, and mainland Mindanao as the bus company can also transport Dinagat’s local products. (PNA)
