The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday lauded the Office of the President and the Department of Budget and Management for upgrading the salaries of promoted teachers and personnel.
The DBM approved the release of PHP8.68 billion worth of salary differential for the reclassified positions under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) system.
In a Viber message, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara expressed his gratitude to the country’s chief executive for advancing the welfare and better compensation for eligible personnel.
“Malaking tulong ito sa pagmo-motivate sa ating mga teacher na matagal nang naghintay sa promotion nila (This is a huge help to motivate our teachers who have long waited for their promotions),” he told the Philippine News Agency.
“Thanks to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, and DBM Secretary Kim Robert de Leon.”
Angara likewise recognized the teachers’ efforts, saying they deserve the approved salary upgrades.
“Thanks to our teachers, of course, who deserve their promotion and salary upgrade,” he told the PNA.
At least 93,344 teachers and personnel with reclassified positions will receive the salary upgrades nationwide.
This includes DepEd personnel with issued Notices of Organization, Staffing, and Compensation Action (NOSCA) and appointments. (PNA)
