Programme Scope
The accelerator targets startups working in insurtech, healthtech, and medtech, and it is also open to companies developing adjacent technologies that can demonstrate outcomes relevant to the insurance sector. Selected participants will take part in workshops and receive mentorship from Generali executives and outside industry specialists across several areas, including product refinement, navigating the insurance value chain, go-to-market strategy, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, financial planning, and fundraising preparation.
Generali is running the programme with support from Artem PACE, an accelerator operator involved in shaping the curriculum and structure. Fabrice Benard, who serves as CEO of Generali Insurance Malaysia and Country Head of Generali’s Malaysian entities, described the launch as evidence of the insurer’s intent to take an active, hands-on role in the country’s startup ecosystem rather than stay on the sidelines, adding that Artem PACE’s involvement gives the programme a stronger operational foundation for participating startups.
Path To Demo Day
The programme will conclude with a Demo Day, where shortlisted startups present to Generali representatives and an appointed panel of judges. Top-performing teams will receive cash prizes, though Generali has not disclosed specific amounts.
The launch adds to a series of Generali-backed initiatives supporting Malaysia’s insurtech and SME ecosystem in recent periods, including earlier collaborations with the UN Development Programme on SME risk resilience. GROW 2026 marks the insurer’s first standalone accelerator format in the country, distinct from those earlier partnership-based initiatives.
