Amid global uncertainties, focusing on what we can do and on the good we are already doing is a way of building resilience.
Programs that celebrate the best of Filipinos offer a much-needed breather and a shared space we can all rally behind.
For almost two decades, the Asia CEO Awards has been doing exactly that, aiming to showcase the Philippines as a leading destination for global business while recognizing leaders and organizations whose resilience and excellence continue to drive growth and nation-building.
Now in its 17th year and presented by Santé, the event carries the theme: “Tough Times Don’t Last. Tough People Do.”
Achieving And Sustaining Success
In several conversations with Richard Mills and Rebecca Bustamante, the founders and leaders of the Asia CEO Awards, hard work that brings success has been a constant theme.
Coming from severe poverty, Rebecca left home early to work abroad to support her family. She worked her way up to become a top sales leader in a large national financial services company, and later served as senior sales director for a global cosmetics company.
Richard, who served as President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, exemplified a strong commitment to unlocking and elevating the potential of the Philippine business sector on the global stage.
Both have collaborated on several initiatives and have since built one of the country’s largest organizations for business forums, summits, and awards programs.
