Comelec: Voter Registration Drive Resumes April 7

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said voter registration activities nationwide will resume on Tuesday.

“Reminder: Starting tomorrow, April 7, 2026, all Comelec offices will be open again,” it said in a social media post Monday.

Comelec offices were closed on Holy Thursday and Good Friday, in observance of the Holy Week.

The poll body has implemented a work-from-home scheme every Monday, in support of the government’s implementation of a four-day workweek as part of energy conservation measures.

Meanwhile, the Comelec reported that it has processed over 3.7 million applications, as of March 31, 2026.

Based on poll body data, it has processed a total of 3,697,800 applications since the voter registration period started on Oct. 20, 2025.

Region 4-A (Calabarzon) still has the highest number of applicants at 610,859. Females have the most number of applications with 318,155 and males with only 292,704.

It is followed by Central Luzon at 417,603 (female, 215,767 and male, 201,836); National Capital Region with 372,503 (female, 199,221 and male, 173,282).

Still with the least number of registrants is Cordillera Administrative Region with only 50,465 (female, 26,568 and male, 23,897).

The nationwide voter registration will end on May 18. (PNA)
