The local government here is proposing new tourism plans to transform rivers into a water sports destination.
Barangay Baikingon chair Ronello Gumapac said a five-kilometer stretch of the Bungcalalan River could be used for kayaking activities.
“The river’s manageable current makes it suitable for kayaking and similar recreational water activities,” he said in an interview Tuesday.
Gumapac sent his proposal to the City Council’s Tourism Committee, which will conduct an exploratory visit on Dec. 16.
A separate ocular inspection will take place on Dec. 10 for the proposed city government takeover of the Gardens of Malasag Eco Village in Cugman. (PNA)
