Forty exhibitors have confirmed to join this year’s first Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) in Antique, where they can sell rice, vegetables and other local products.
Ge Anthony Recopuerto, KNP focal person from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), said the KNP is scheduled for April 29 to May 1 at the lobby of Old Antique Capitol.
The event is timely, as upland farmers in San Remigio will soon harvest vegetables to be sold fresh during the KNP.
“Rice will also be sold by the Kamapat Agriculture Cooperative at affordable prices,”Recopuerto said.
The exhibitors will also receive a daily wage of PHP513 under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment, the provincial government’s partner agency.
This will allow the exhibitors to have additional income.
Recopuerto said tthey will be staging five KNP events this year to assist farmers and other micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in selling their products and generating income during this time of crisis. (PNA)
